Founded on April 2, 2014, we are a Non profit organization that undertakes cultural arts work in the city of Greater Manchester. We aim to involve all communities in Caribbean cultural arts including costume making, design and steel band workshops. Working mainly in schools and local centres, we also do other events such as exhibitions, fund raising, calypso and Soca workshops and the annual MECC Carnival Cultural day.
Manchester Eastern Caribbean Carnival
Preserving Caribbean culture in Manchester
Caribbean carnival celebrations bring young and old from all communities together in costume to feast, dance and party. Carnival weekend brings people onto the streets, into the parks and on parade to promote and celebrate their cultures. Caribbean carnival day is the ultimate symbol of community cohesion as thousands of people gather to rejoice together in an environment of fun, music and laughter.
